Visitor tips
Children must wear wristbands: Make sure your kids are wearing wristbands with your contact information, as Chessington World is huge, and getting lost isn’t uncommon.
Choose popular rides early in the day: Go for popular rides like Dragon’s Fury or Vampire early in the morning, as the crowd keeps increasing later in the day. Head to the less popular but equally exhilarating rides, Tomb Blaster or Dragon Falls, first so that you do not miss them later in the day.
Plan your day: Go straight to Mandrill Mayhem (the new rollercoaster) — queue times can hit 2+ hours later. Next, do Croc Drop and Dragon’s Fury — they’re near each other, and the lines are short early. Go for the Tiger Rock ride and Zufari jeep safari before lunch. After lunch, visit smaller attractions (Room on the Broom, SEA LIFE Centre) when queues are low. In the late afternoon, head for the Tomb Blaster, Adventure Tree Carousel, and the Barrel Bail Out rides. In the evening, hit Vampire and the Zoo.
Head straight for these rides: After the morning coaster rush, go to Tomb Blaster (indoor laser ride) — it’s huge, indoors (good for rain), and even during busy days stays manageable. Adventure Tree Carousel and Griffin’s Galleon have short lines during lunchtime.
Look for single-rider lines: Chessington doesn’t advertise “single rider lines,” but staff at rides like Mandrill Mayhem and Dragon’s Fury will sometimes let you fill empty seats if you ask at the entrance. It works best late afternoon when queues slow down.
