Divided into five ‘chapters’, the Churchill Museum gives you a detailed insight into the different roles played by Winston Churchill during his long life. These ‘chapters’ include War Leader, Cold War Statesman, Young Churchill, Maverick Politician, and Wilderness Years. Access to the Churchill Museum is included with your Churchill War Rooms ticket.
This was the place from where Winston Churchill ‘directed’ the war. Many crucial decisions were taken by Winston Churchill and his Ministers while sitting in this very room during the Second World War.
To truly experience war-time London, pay a visit to the Map Room in the Churchill War Rooms. All the books and charts in the Map Room have remained in the same position where they were left in 1945 when the lights in the bunker were switched off.
Located next to the Map Room, Churchill’s bedroom in the War Rooms also functioned as his office. Churchill used this room to gather information, host meetings and make war plans.
Room 60 in the Churchill War Rooms was the BBC’s broadcasting room. The room was used to broadcast Churchill’s speeches and provide information about the war to the people of London in 1945.
