From the award-winning creators of The Play That Goes Wrong comes another roaring production, this time infiltrating the world of espionage with their trademark physical comedy.
🕵 Star-studded spy caper
Follow the classified mission along with original Mischief company members including Henry Lewis and Henry Shields (who also wrote the play) alongside rising star Adele James (of Queen Cleopatra fame).
👑 Royal approval
Already showcased at the Royal Variety Performance before His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen, this comedy has received the highest security clearance – and the biggest laughs – even before its official premiere.
🧨 Explosive setting
Enter the golden age of espionage as the swinging sixties provide the perfect backdrop for ensuing chaos, featuring elaborate disguises, malfunctioning spy gadgets, and enough double-crosses to make your head spin.
Written by Mischief Theatre co-founders Henry Lewis and Henry Shields, the production bears all the hallmarks of their previous smash hits – meticulous planning disguised as spectacular disaster, physical comedy that defies logic, and comedic set-pieces that build to impossibly frantic conclusions. With over a decade of celebrating laughs on the West End, the company has taken its mission of making theater fun global. Watch the ‘funniest theatre troupe in Britain’ (The Telegraph) with tickets to The Comedy About Spies now!
It’s the 1960s, in London's Piccadilly Hotel, we follow a rogue British agent who has absconded with top-secret weapon plans, triggering a convergence of CIA and KGB operatives all desperate to retrieve the classified file.
The chaos multiplies exponentially with the arrival of an unsuspecting British couple and an actor auditioning for the role of James Bond – all becoming unwitting pawns in this high-stakes game of international espionage. The operation soon turns into a peculiar series of mistaken identities and bungled missions, all gone hysterically awry.

The theater is small but really cozy. What I loved most about the show was the set design, along with the special effects: meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail, they draw you completely into the story. The opening scene is explosive! I recommend arriving half an hour before the start to find a seat calmly and enjoy the atmosphere.

The dark atmosphere and dim lighting give you the impression of being in Hogwarts Castle. The actors truly convey the feelings of joy, fear, and anguish—true professionals. What moved me most was the relationship between the parents and their children (Harry, Draco, Albus, and Scorpius). As a father myself, I understand the difficulties of not always knowing how to talk to your children, but even so, you would give your life for them.

Show itself, best one i've seen so far. A bit too long, but worth it. I had good seats, expensive, but good. Seats are comftorable, people were polite, there was no childish bursts trough the whole show. At the end of the show, someone behind me was yelling at me and told me that it is not ok to sit in the middle because no one else can behind me can see the show. How am i suppost to know she can't see? Whole show that you don't say anything, and then you yell at me at the end. And what does sitting in the middle mean? I just moved my head a bit because i didn't see the stage of the girl who leaned on the fence (because she couldn't see otherwise).
Whole experiance beside this was mega. Will do it again for sure when i visit London again. Greetings from Croatia :)

Last night’s performance of My Neighbour Totoro at the Gillian Lynne Theatre was truly outstanding—an adaptation that doesn’t just “look beautiful,” but genuinely captures the spirit and emotional texture of the film. The production is packed with lovingly observed details, from iconic moments like the rainy bus-stop scene to the quiet, everyday gestures that make the story feel so human. It feels remarkably faithful to the original, while translating it into a stage language that is fresh, precise, and deeply immersive.
The cast delivered consistently strong performances with impressive emotional control—natural, layered, and never exaggerated. What also stood out was the work of the kuroko-style stagehands: their scene changes and prop transitions were lightning-fast and incredibly clean, keeping the storytelling fluid without breaking the atmosphere for a second. The music team was exceptional as well—powerful live playing, excellent dynamics, and vocals that were genuinely beautiful and well-placed, enhancing the mood rather than overpowering it.
Everything—acting, movement, design, music, pacing—felt perfectly balanced. Even now, I’m still thinking about it, with that lingering warmth and “afterglow” you only get from something truly special.
