Your guide to Halloween at Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens, with its historic glasshouses and sprawling botanical landscape, becomes an atmospheric backdrop for Halloween. This year’s special event is a ticketed, after-dark trail separate from regular day admission.

Things to know before booking Kew Gardens Halloween tickets

  • Halloween at Kew Gardens is one of London's most popular seasonal attractions, meaning demand far outstrips availability. If you wait, you risk missing out completely. Book your tickets online in advance to guarantee your prime time slot before tickets sell out completely and lock in the best price.
  • Tickets for Halloween at Kew do not include entry to Kew Gardens during the daytime. If you have a Halloween at Kew ticket, you can add a reduced-entry price for a day visit.
  • Day tickets during the Halloween period are not valid for the evening trail and cannot be upgraded. If including a daytime visit, you must exit the gardens by the following times before re-entering for the trail:
    • October 17–25: exit by 6pm (last day entry 5pm)
    • October 26–November 2: exit by 4pm (last day entry 3pm)
  • Halloween at Kew does not accept 3rd-party vouchers (e.g., Virgin Experience Days, Red Letter Days) as those are valid for day visits only.
  • Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged after purchase except via transfer up to 7 days before booking.

Frequently asked questions about Kew Gardens Halloween events

Can I book tickets just for the Halloween event without a general admission ticket?

The Halloween at Kew trail requires a separate ticket; your regular daytime garden admission ticket does not cover the evening trail.

Is there a capacity limit for the events?

Yes, there is limited capacity with timed entry slots to manage the flow of visitors and ensure the trail remains safe and enjoyable.

Are the Halloween events suitable for children?

Yes, the event is suitable for all ages, but the scare-factor increases with later time-slots (Daylight to Moonlight), so choose according to your child’s comfort.

Will the events continue in poor weather?

The trail runs in all standard conditions, but if the event is cancelled due to safety concerns (e.g., extreme weather), visitors will be offered an alternative date. Any decision to cancel that evening’s trail will be made by 2pm. General refunds are not provided simply for bad weather.

What happens if an event is cancelled and I’ve already booked my ticket?

If cancellation is announced, then an alternative date will be offered. Otherwise, tickets are strictly non-refundable and cannot be exchanged unless you transfer up to 7 days before your original booking.

Can I also visit Kew Gardens during the day and then attend the trail the same evening?

Yes, you can add a daytime garden ticket at reduced cost if you wish, but your Halloween trail ticket remains separate, and you must exit the Gardens at the required time before re-entering for the evening slot.

Are pets allowed on the trail?

No, pets are not permitted. Assistance dogs are allowed with the proper ID.
