Visitor tips

  • Eat early or very late: Have lunch at 11:15am or after 2:30pm for almost no queues, and avoid the food court rush between 12pm–2pm.
  • Target rides during lunch hour: Between 12:30–2pm, everyone queues for food. Instead of fighting crowds at the main eateries, grab a snack earlier and head for rides like Stealth or Colossus. Queue times often drop while everyone else eats.
  • Go on popular rides just before closing hour: The queues for SAW: The Ride, Nemesis Inferno, and The Swarm shrink massively in the final hour before park close. Ride shutdowns only happen after queue lines empty, so jump in line 5 minutes before close and you’re guaranteed a ride.
  • Best seats for each major ride: For Stealth, the front row offers the best view, insane wind blasts, and feels way faster. For The Swarm, sit on the front left to fly past the crashed helicopter, firetruck, and near-miss props. The back row on Nemesis Inferno whips you harder around the loops and corkscrews. Get the front row on SAW: The Ride to actually see the crazy indoor trap scenes clearly. For the Colossus, we recommend the middle row for the smoothest experience. Sit in the middle on Tidal Wave for the maximum splash, but if you want to stay dry(ish), sit at the very back. Sit at the outer edge arms of Samurai for the most brutal spinning and flipping.
  • However, ditch the front row for faster thrills: Queues are longer for the front row of Stealth and The Swarm. If you’re willing to ride second or third row, you’ll usually board in half the time — and the difference in view/experience is tiny compared to the time saved.
  • Plan for wet rides: If you plan to do Tidal Wave, Rumba Rapids, or Storm Surge, do them all in a row and change clothes once. Thorpe Park has full-body dryers (£3–£5) near the wet rides, but bring a microfiber towel or spare shirt just in case. Avoid doing the wet rides towards the end of the day so that you have enough time to dry yourself before heading home.
  • Recommended park route: From the Dome entrance, head straight to Stealth. After Stealth, walk right toward Colossus and Samurai before heading towards SAW. If you like spooky rides, jump into The Walking Dead: The Ride nearby. Grab a snack or ride Detonator (the drop tower) if queues are short. Use the Swarm shortcut bridge (look for signs near the pizza place). This saves you 10+ minutes of walking around the lake. Next, ride the Tidal Wave and Storm Surge. Hit Rumba Rapids last since you’ll stay wet longer and it’s chillier. Walk back toward the entrance and hit up Nemesis Inferno.
  • Best rides in the rain: Thorpe Park doesn’t close everything in light rain! If you don’t mind the light rain, the best wet-weather rides that still run are Nemesis Inferno, The Walking Dead, and Colossus.
  • Make use of the single rider queue: For solo adventurers or those willing to split up from their group, take advantage of single rider queues and save time in queues.
  • Ride closures: Always check the Thorpe Park Resort app for ride status to avoid wasted walks.
  • Skip shops till last: Don’t carry merch all day — shop right before you leave.
