Ticketing was ok except the requirement to print the tickets - I got a QRcode, so why to print? The best thing was the guide - Mel. As a guide myself I can assess his work. Professional, friendly, helpful a knew really everything. Hope the guide on our next trip will be the same quality.

We had a great time with Catya and Greg on our trip to Costewolds (Warwick Castle, Stratford upon Avon, and Oxford). Catya was very knowledgeable about the place and she was very kind and considerate to all of us. Greg also kept us safe as he drove us safely throughout the tour. I have a fond relationship with castles, I love to explore them and try to imagine how it must of felt to live so long ago. The exercise up and down the walls and turrets was fantastic with rewarding views while catching one's breath. Such a complete Castle with a great show out by the water. I absolutely loved it. Thankyou for the experience ❤️

The trip on the rail was enjoyable and easy to manage. Warwick Castle was beautiful and enjoyable. The grounds are gorgeous . The only reason I put good instead of excellent was the disappointment in the dungeon tour. Many years ago, we visited and were able to observe the dungeons the way they were. We were actually able to feel the oppression. Now it's more like a fun house with the actors.

  • If you're traveling with little ones aged 3 to 8 years old, take advantage of the Princess Tower. Secure your spot by booking a slot when you arrive since tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 
  • You can cancel your tickets 24 hours before the experience begins and you will get a full refund.
  • Some ticket options may or may not include transfers from London. However, you can always upgrade your tickets for round-trip transfers.
  • Carer tickets for those accompanying disabled visitors are free. However, these tickets must be booked in advance, and on arrival, you are required to show proof of the need for a carer. 
  • The Castle Dungeon is not suitable for children under the age of 10. Young adults under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a guardian (aged 18 years or older).

The Conquerors Fortress

In 914 AD, Aethelflaed constructed an imposing mile-long wall around Warwick, leaving an enduring mark in history. This fortified the town and left an indelible legacy. Also called the Mound, it is a piece of the castle's original wooden structure built in 1068. Climbing to its summit, you'll feel like you're on top of the world, surveying the River Avon, Warwick town, and its surroundings.

Towers and ramparts

Climb Guy's Tower and Caeser’s Tower, the tallest at Warwick Castle at 44 meters, to survey the castle from their summits. Guy’s Tower was built in the 14th century and was used to host guests of the earl. The higher the status of the guests, the higher they resided in the tower. Peer over the battlements and ramparts where knights once fired arrows and warded off enemy soldiers.

Legend of the Trebuchet

Warwick Castle proudly houses Britain's enormous siege machine, showcased in a spectacular and unprecedented performance. The Trebuchet weighs 22 tonnes and is almost 60 feet tall and was used to hurl huge projectiles and large rocks to breach the castle walls.

The Peacock Garden

Explore the Peacock Garden with its meticulously sculpted topiaries and hedges, and a stunning fountain at its heart. Designed by Robert Marnock, a famous garden designer, in the mid to late-19th century, The Peacock Gardens are named after the birds that live there. Be sure to have Afternoon Tea overlooking the gardens from the Conservatory Tea Room here.

East Front

From here, the grandeur of Warwick Castle's exterior and its main entrance welcomes you. You can also see the mound, the oldest surviving structure of Warwick Castle which was built on the orders of William the Conqueror in 1068 and formed part of the original motte and bailey structure that was seen across England during the Norman conquest.

The Great Hall

Inside the Great Hall, you'll find yourself surrounded by a spectacular display of medieval weapons and armor. The Hall is the largest room in the castle, constructed in the 14th century. It was rebuilt in the 17th century to serve as a grand entrance hall for visitors to The Earl of Warwick. After a fire, it was restored in 1871 and is still regularly used for lavish dinners today.

State Rooms

As you move deeper into the castle, you'll discover the beautifully furnished State Rooms. Each room feels like a step into a different era, from the rich tapestries of the Red Drawing Room and the white and gold ceiling of the State Dining Room to the Italian paneling of the Cedar Drawing Room and the gold floral silk curtains and tapestries of the Queen Anne Bedroom.

Castle Dungeon

Venture beneath the castle into the Castle Dungeons, an interactive experience. It's like stepping into a time machine, with tales of plagues, torture, and the eerie whispers of the past as you meet the Plague Doctor, the Torturer, the Castle Jester, and other characters. There are plenty of special effects, theatrical sets, and jumpscares.

Falconers Quest

Watch in awe as majestic birds of prey take to the skies, their flight and hunting skills on full display. The Falconers Quest is the UK’s biggest Birds of Prey show, with 60 birds from all over the world, including the Andean Condor, the Steller’s Sea Eagle, the Bearded Vulture, and the Bald Eagle.

Duration: It takes around 3 to 4 hours to complete a Warwick Castle tour. However, you can spend longer at the castle if you want to see everything. The castle also has several restaurants and cafes where you can stop for a break.

Best time to visit: Spring and summer are ideal times to visit Warwick Castle, as the gardens are in full bloom, and there are more outdoor shows and activities. Autumn brings special events like Halloween, and winter sees festive displays. Weekdays outside school holidays are the best time to avoid crowds.

There are two parking accesses to the castle. You can access the Stratford Road and Stables parking lots via the entrances on Stratford Road and Castle Lane, respectively.

  • Take the secret passageway that leads from the castle's State Rooms to the Great Hall. The passageway is not open to the general public, but you can book a guided tour to see it.
  • Visit the Peacock Gardens at night. The gardens are lit up with fairy lights and candles, and there is often live music playing.
  • Climb the Guy of Warwick Tower which offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The climb is not for the faint of heart, but it is definitely worth it for the views.
  • Warwick Castle hosts regular medieval banquets in the Great Hall. The banquets are a fun and unique way to experience medieval culture.
  • There are three parking options at Warwick Castle. The closest one costs £10. The other two, priced at £6, are free for annual pass holders but involve a 20-minute walk. If you're traveling with someone who's disabled, elderly, or young, there's a drop-off area right by the entrance.
