The line went ahead really fast, the cabin wasn't too full, you could enjoy the view without being too crowded. And the ride goes on the perfect speed so you can take a lot of pictures and videos and they'll look perfect like there was no motion. We booked the 5pm ride which was perfect because the sun was setting and by the time we were on the top it was already dark and we could see all the lights of the city!

My feet were killing me from touring all day so we booked this cruise last minute just to rest. Best decision ever. Going from Westminster down to Tower Bridge as the sun set was absolutely gorgeous. The city looks totally different from the water. Our time on the cruise was really something else and definitely reccomend other considering this experience to book ASAP. Getting that close to Tower Bridge was amazing, you really feel how massive it is. It was so relaxing and a great way to end our day.

Booked a flexi ticket, arrived at Westminster just as the sun was setting, turned out to be a fortunate decision. Even though it was rather cold, the sights of the cruise was amazing. I've done a day cruise before but a night cruise was totally different. Highly recommended.

Things to know before booking your Madame Tussauds London tickets

  • Book in advance: Madame Tussauds London is one of the city’s most popular attractions, so tickets sell out fast, especially during holidays and peak season. If you have a specific time slot in mind, you’ll want to book online at least two weeks ahead.
  • Types of tickets: You can choose from standard entry tickets, fast-track tickets or combo tickets. Combo options let you pair Madame Tussauds with SEA LIFE London or the Tower of London, depending on what you’d like to see.
  • What’s included: Standard entry tickets give you access to over 150 wax figures, all themed zones, the Chamber of Horrors, and the Spirit of London ride. If you book a combo, you’ll also get entry to either the Tower of London, including the Crown Jewels, or SEA LIFE London with access to all exhibits.
  • Upgrades: Make your visit extra special by upgrading your standard or fast‑track ticket to include the 1835 Champagne Bar with a complimentary drink (paid add‑on). Combo tickets with SEA LIFE London can also be upgraded to include the London Eye for a thrilling 30‑minute ride with stunning city views.
  • When to choose combos: If you’re short on time or want to tick off two top London attractions in one day, combo tickets are a great option. They’re better value than buying tickets separately and come with great discounts that’s worth every penny.
  • Best time to visit: To enjoy smaller crowds, avoid peak season from May to August and school holidays. Mid-September or March usually offers a quieter, more relaxed experience. Note that the London Eye will be closed for maintenance from 5–18 January 2026.
  • Accessibility: Most areas are wheelchair accessible, but keep in mind that the Spirit of London ride requires walking for about 40 steps.
  • Restrictions: Madame Tussauds is suitable for most ages, but some areas, like the Chamber of Horrors, may not be ideal for young children. The Marvel Universe 4D experience also has a minimum height requirement of 1.02 metres (3'4").

Visitor tips

  • Save Royals for last: Royal figures attract constant crowds; visiting them near closing time usually means shorter waits and cleaner photo backgrounds.
  • Ride before noon: Spirit of London queues build steadily; riding earlier keeps momentum high and avoids mid-visit bottlenecks later.
  • Marvel timing matters: Watch the Marvel 4D show right after a session ends to enter first and secure better seating positions.
  • Follow staff flow: Staff subtly guide crowd movement; staying with their suggested route helps avoid sudden congestion around popular figures.
  • Use portrait mode: Phone portrait mode works best here, softening background crowds and making wax figures look more realistic in photos.
  • Mind floor transitions: Crowds cluster near staircases and lifts; pause briefly before entering new floors to avoid unnecessary waiting.
  • Skip first photo urge: Early excitement slows visits; move past initial figures quickly and return later when crowds thin naturally.
  • Stand slightly sideways: Angled poses beside figures look more natural than straight on shots and reduce reflections from strong lighting.
